The History of Bates Insurance Agency

In 1963, David Bates founded Bates Insurance in Birmingham. In the years that followed, the company experienced steady growth of as much as 20 percent a year. As the company grew, they acquired several of the oldest and most respected insurance agencies in the Birmingham area, including Dearborn Insurance, founded in 1886, and L.R. Jones Insurance Agency.

The company has always been staffed by men and women who are experts in the field of insurance and are trained to provide prompt and efficient attention and the broadest coverage at the most reasonable cost.

Today

Four decades after the agency's conception, Bates' son Bubba continues to add new producers and to expand the coverage potential throughout the city and the state.
